ENGLISH A2 - TASK 5 TO 8

1. Imagine that you live in a large apartment building. Use complaints from unit 6 and your own ideas to
write a set of 6 guidelines (Unit 6 - 70 to 100 words).

1. Don't park cars in front of the houses. Everyone must use the parking lot.
2. Can everyone please keep the park clean?. Please pick up the trash.
3. Would you mind turning the TV down after 11 pm? It's important for your neighborhoods.
4. Don't use speakers in the morning. People need silence to work.
5. Can everyone please keep the pets inside?. it is necessary to keep at home.
6. Would you mind take your garbage out? The smell is annoying.

2. Imagine you are sick and can't go class. A classmate has agreed to help you. Think of three things you
need him/her to do for you. Then write a WhatsApp message with instructions (Unit 7 - 50 to 70
words).

3. Write an entry for a travel website about a festival or celebration in Colombia. Remember to include
adverbial clauses (Unit 8 - 70 to 100 words).

- One of the most important festivals in Colombia: the Barranquilla Carnival.


The Barranquilla Carnival is a festival when the cheerful city of Barranquilla is filled with
street parties, troupes and parades in which nearly 500 folk groups participate, as well as
local and international artists. The Barranquilla Carnival are days when culture generates an
impact on society due to the choreographies and musicals that have contributed to the
construction of Colombian nationality and have become pillars of national identity.

4. First interview a friend/family member about her/his past, presente and hopes in the future. Then,
write a paragraph describing how this person has changed (Unit 9 - 70 to 100 words).

My co-worker

This person moved to the city of Bogota 8 years ago as displaced by the guerrilla. She used
to study in a small house with a maximum of 6 children and a teacher for all subjects. Now,
she has a scholarship to one of the best universities in the city because she is very smart.
She is a law student and loves reading cases of injustice in the country. Someday, she might
be a great lawyer to fight injustices in the country. Also, she is going to create a big
campaign to protect animal rights.
