SETTINGS

CHARACTERS

PLOT
Miguel dreams of becoming a musician despite his family's generations-old ban on music. On the
Day of the Dead, he accidentally finds himself in the Land of the Dead. There, he meets his
deceased relatives and seeks the help of his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz, to return to the living world
and prove his musical talent. Along the way, he uncovers secrets about his family's past and learns
about the true meaning of family and remembrance.
CONFLICT
The main conflict is Miguel's struggle against his family's ban on music, driven by his desire to
pursue his passion. This external conflict is compounded by the internal conflict of understanding
and reconciling his love for music with his family's wishes. In the Land of the Dead, Miguel faces the
additional conflict of trying to return to the living world before sunrise, while discovering the truth
about his heritage.
