Goals of the Course
This course is designed to create general entrepreneurship awareness in the student
with a view to inculcating in him the spirit of self-reliance.
General objectives of the course
1. Understand the basic concept of entrepreneurship awareness in the student with
a view to inculcating in him the spirit of self-reliance.
2. Understand the roles of entrepreneurship in personal and national growth and
development.
3. Know how to set business goals.
4. Know how to identify business opportunities.
5. Know how to draw simple business plans.
6. Develops interest in learning a specified entrepreneurial skill
7. Know how to implement a simple business and manage it
8. Know the 7Ps of marketing

1. The Basic Concept of Entrepreneurship.
a. Explain the terms: -

b. Compare: -
- Wage Employment and Entrepreneurship
- Self Employment and Entrepreneurship
c. Identify the facilities and opportunities available for self-employment.
d. Identify successful entrepreneurs in Nigeria.
e. Evaluate the role of entrepreneurship in wealth creation.
2. The Roles of Entrepreneurship in Personal and National Growth and

a. Explain how entrepreneurship leads to the creation of

b. Identify resources and constraints of entrepreneurship.
C. Explain how entrepreneurship leads to import substitution and utilization of
local resources.

a. Evaluate strengths, weaknesses opportunities and threat (SWOT Analysis),

4. How to identify business opportunities
a. Define business opportunity.
b. Identify the process of product/service selection.
c. State the process of exploring opportunities.
5. How to draw simple business plans
a. Define the concept of business plan.
b. Explain the process of preparing preliminary project proposal.
c. Explain the process of preparing a detailed business plan.
d. Conduct a modest business plan on a selected venture (the written business plan
should be assessed as part of the continuous assessment).
