I. INTRODUCTION

It is essential to understand how global economies are increasingly interrelated

beyond the simple transfer of physical goods. Trade in services covers a wide
range of transactions, from tourism to information technology, where knowledge,
skills and experiences are exchanged, becoming a fundamental pillar of the
modern global economy.

In recent decades, international trade in services has grown significantly, driven

by technological advances, the opening of trade policies and globalization, which
has strengthened the connection between countries and generated new
economic opportunities, as well as regulatory challenges.

Services are becoming increasingly important in global trade, especially in a

digital and knowledge-based global economy. This shift has sparked a renewed
focus on formulating trade policies and agreements that address the specific
needs and concerns of trade in services.

In this context, we will explore various aspects of international trade in services,

from definitions and classifications to economic, political and social implications.
