Your servant Sadhubhusan Das 6th May 2020 Deity Worship Manual
Purity and cleanliness are essential in Deity worship. The Hari-
bhakti-vilāsa describes six divisions of purity which must be established in Deity worship:
1. Purity of Place (sthāna-śuddhi),
2. Purity of Articles (dravya- śuddhi), 3. Purity of Body (ātma- śuddhi), 4. Purity of mind (citta-śuddhi), 5. Purity of Mantra (mantra- śuddhi), and 6. Purity of the Deity (mūrti- śuddhi).
