Purpose-

Purpose of this methodology laid down detailed step involved in correction of Reinforced
Earth (RE) wall top alignment. The repair involves the removal and reinstallation of
compacted soil, Other material as applicable, Pannel/Block, Paraweb material etc. to ensure
proper alignment as per the approved design specifications.

Scope-

The scope of this document is rectifying the disturbed top alignment of the Reinforced
Earth (RE) Wall for Widening and Strengthening for improvement and up Gradation of
NH-709A Garmukteshwar (Ch-83+200 of NH-24) to Meerut (Ch- 9+860 of NH-235)
including connector to NH- 119 package XII in the state of Uttar Pradesh on EPC mode.

Responsibility-

Overall responsibility of this work lies with the section In charge. Additionally, below will
support as -

 Site Engineer:
o Supervision of on-site activities, ensuring adherence to the methodology and
safety protocols.
o Conducting inspections and maintaining quality control records.

Methodology-

1. Preparation and Mobilization:

 Inspection: Conduct a thorough inspection to assess the extent of misalignment and


document existing conditions.
 Site Preparation: Clear the work area of any obstructions and ensure safe access
for machinery and personnel.
 Safety Measures: Implement all necessary safety measures, including personal
protective equipment (PPE), signage, and barriers.

2. Space Allocation and Bench Cutting:

 Space Allocation: Ensure adequate space is allocated for the movement of heavy
machinery, including graders and rollers. The width of the working area should
accommodate the equipment without causing any operational hindrances.
 Bench Cutting: Perform bench cutting along the RE Wall section to create a stable
working platform. This will facilitate the re-laying of soil in layers and ensure
proper compaction.

3. Removal of Compacted Soil and Paraweb:

 Equipment Setup: Mobilize required equipment, including excavators, loaders, and


compaction machinery.
 Soil Removal: Carefully excavate the compacted soil from the affected section,
ensuring not to damage the underlying layers or adjacent structures.
 Paraweb Removal: Dismantle and remove the existing Paraweb material carefully.

4. Re-Alignment and Installation:

 Base Preparation: Re-grade and level the base to the required specifications to
ensure a stable foundation for reinstallation.

 Re-alignment of Panel:
o The Removed Panel Shall Be Re-aligned and Placed as per approved plan
and profile & Design
 Paraweb Installation:
o Lay the Paraweb material in accordance with the approved design, ensuring
proper tension and alignment.
o Secure the Paraweb with appropriate anchoring systems to maintain
alignment during backfilling.
 Layer-wise Backfilling:
o Begin backfilling with the excavated soil, placing it in layers not exceeding
as per approved drawing and methodology.
o Compact each layer using suitable compaction equipment to achieve the
required density, as specified in the project specifications.
o All required layer will be placed as per approved drawing and specification.
o Continuously check the alignment and tension of the Paraweb material
during the backfilling process.

Documentation

 Inspection Records: Keep detailed records of all inspections, including


photographic evidence and test results.
