Isometric Drawing Using Coordinate Axes Method

Draw TV in correct orientation, number the

points, and raise height of key points

FV RSV
Isometric Drawing Using Coordinate Axes Method

First read height at corner points to define

boundary of object.

Height is obtained from FV or SV

Circle in Isometric Drawing

A circle in isometric view appears as an ellipse, which is called

an isocircle.
Remarks

⮚Isometric drawing instead of isometric projection

⮚Hidden lines are not shown in isometric drawings

⮚Block method is often more convenient as compared to coordinate axes method

⮚A rough sketch/free-hand drawing may facilitate visualizing the problem and

making necessary modifications

⮚Trial and error may be needed to satisfy the orthographic projections provided
Free-hand Sketch

Drawing an initial free-hand/rough sketch maybe helpful
