TITLE: DCDB Panels - MCB and MCCB Tests

PURPOSE: To guide the responsible persons in conducting DCDB Panels - MCB and MCCB Tests

REFERENCE: WI-NG-6460-002-048
TEST EQUIPMENTS: Primary/Secondary Current Injection test kit; IR Tester
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS - The following Safety precautions shall be taken in consideration prior, during and after conducting the test measurements.

WORK INSTRUCTIONS / TEST PROCEDURES

1. MCCB and MCB Conductivity and Continuity test


1.1 Conduct testing as per below connection diagram:

2. MCB Trip Test


2.1 Conduct testing as per below connection diagram:

current rating of the MCB

“CLOSED”

“ON+TIME” to start MCB w/ current
To Power Source (AC) the test after turning Rating = 20A
on the MCB first

2.2 The MCB shall be deemed OK when it trips at the expected


time range as indicated in the MCB’s manual
2.3 Record all values measured from the display screen of the
test equipment and record in test forms.

3. MCCB Trip Test


3.1 Conduct testing as per below connection diagram:

3.2 Inject current from primary injection test kit or any suitable kit with
up to 250%-300% of the rated current of the MCCB.
MCCB must be in
“CLOSED” 3.3 Record all values(time and current) measured from the display
