OF INDIA Central Pollution Control Board Waste Management-lll Division NOTICE File No.: CP/14/2024-WM-III-HO-CPCB-HO January 29, 2024 Kind Attention: Recyclers under E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 MoEF&CC has notified E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, vide notification No. GSR 801(E) dated November 02, 2022. The rules are effective from April 01, 2023, and have superseded E-Waste (M) Rules 2016. The E-Waste (M) Rules, 2022, aim to take all steps required to ensure the management of E-Waste in a scientific and Environmentally Sound Manner (ESM). As per the provisions in Rule 13 (3) (i) of the above Rules, all Producers under E-waste (M) Rules, 2022 are required to fulfil their Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations assigned to them through online purchase of EPR Cartiicates from ragistered Recyclers only. In the said context, all registered Recyclers are hereby directed to recycle the E-Waste available with them and generate the EPR Certificates for subsequent sale to producers, All Recyclers to generate and transfer the EPR Certificates to the Producers based on the demands raised by them. Recyclers are also directed not to hold any credits with them in case demand has already been raised by Producers.
