About the Institute
NIFT marks itself as a beacon for many determined and passionate professionals as
they get transformed to be the epitome of torch bearers in the field of Fashion. The
National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), was set up in 1986 under the
Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, and is a Statutory Institute governed by the NIFT
Act 2006. Academic inclusivity has always been at the forefront in the expansion
plans of the institute. NIFT today has unfurled its wings throughout the expanse of
the country through its 19 professionally managed campuses. National Institute of
Fashion Technology provides a conducive environment to its students from different
parts of the country to achieve their highest potential through the programmes
offered. Since its very inception, the institute has provided a firm foundation in
fashion education in the domains of Design, Management and Technology to
proudly become synonymous with excellence in fashion education in India.

IMPORTANT
• All candidate may ensure their eligibility criteria as per Prospectus / Admissions
Guidelines before applying for seat allocation.
• All Candidates who have secured Common Merit Rank (CMR) after declaration
of Final Results are requested to go through the Guidelines CAREFULLY.
• All Candidates are advised to fill their choices for Course and Campus well
before the last date and time which is sacrosanct to avoid last minute rush and
non-submission of their Course & Campus preferences.
• Any candidate who does not fill the choices for Course and Campus will not be
considered for Seat Allocation for regular Seat Allocation Rounds.
• All Candidates are advised that they should fill Maximum Number of Choices in
their OWN interest

by the candidate at any stage of the Admission Process. If any benefit has been
availed, the candidate’s application will be rejected.
• The last date of withdrawal from Admission process 2024 for all candidates is
12th July, 2024 till 12.00 Midnight. Candidate withdrawing on or before 12th
July, 2024 (12.00 Midnight) will be refunded full fees paid less Registration Fee.
Candidates withdrawing after 12th July, 2024 (12.00 midnight) entire fee paid
will be forfeited and only Security Deposit will be refunded. All Withdrawal
request will be submitted through Admission Portal only. Offline requests or
request by e-mail will not be considered. Refund rules as given in the
prospectus summarized as below:

Process Overview
The following online process is to be carried out during e-Counselling for Admissions -2024:
Download Allotment Letter, Willingness Vacancy due to Seat Rejection/ Withdrawal/Non-payment of Correction in Application
submission and Admission Fee Payment Admission Fee Form

Online Registration Process
In this stage, all the qualified candidates as per eligibility criteria are required to register online from any
place convenient to them.

The candidate is required to enter Roll Number, Application Number, Name, Mother Name and Date of

• If a candidate fails to lock his/her choices before a pre-announced deadline, his/her choices will
be locked automatically by the system.
Correction in Application Form (Only for NRI Sponsored Seats) in Round 2/3/4
If required, candidates can make the correction in their application form. If a candidate opted “NO” for “Do
you want to apply for NRI Sponsored seats ?” during registration, then he/she may change from “NO” to
“YES” but vice-versa is not allowed.
Willingness
• A candidate, who get a seat first time in any round, can choose the willingness from the following
list during the specified period.
o Floating (Yes- Upgradation): Implies the candidate’s willingness to be considered for all the
higher preferred choices across the Campuses for further rounds of seat allotment.
o Sliding (Yes- Upgradation within Campus ): Implies the candidate’s willingness to be
considered for all the higher preferred choices within the same Campus for further rounds
of seat allotment (applicable for B.Des.)
o Freezing (No-Upgradation): Implies the candidate’s willingness to accept and remain with
the programme and the Campus allotted to her/him.
Withdrawal Rules
• Only those candidates will be eligible for withdrawal, whose seat has been confirmed by paying
the Admission Fee.
• Withdrawal process will be carried out as per schedule.
• The fee shall be refunded through online by NIFT, HO within a specified period as per the refund
policy and Admissions Guidelines for Admissions – 2024 which will be published on the website.
Willingness Change Rules
• A candidate, who takes provisional admission and wants to change his/her willingness status, can
do so directly from web portal during the specified period only.
• Candidate has to login using their login credential and initiate online willingness change request.
They have to agree with online declaration that after willingness change, new seat will be allotted
as per change willingness.

• Candidate can change the willingness from “Float” to “Slide/freeze” or “Slide” to “Freeze” but vice
versa will not be allowed.
Spot Round of Counselling
Eligibility Criteria
• All the eligible candidates including absentees of previous rounds of counselling will be allowed to
participate in Spot Round of counselling, except those, who became ineligible during document
verification due to cut off marks or any other valid reasons, age etc..
Non-eligibility Criteria
• Those candidates who became ineligible during registration or document verifications process of
main counselling.
Vacancy Position
• The vacancies would include those available in all NIFT Campuses after 4th round of Admission Fee
Payment and withdrawal.
Registration Process Rules
• Online Registration process will be similar to the earlier registration. Candidates who desire to
participate in the Spot Round should logged-in to portal and complete the registration process.
Spot Round Participation Fee
• All those candidates, who want to participate in spot round, will have to pay the participation /
registration of Rs. 5000/-. -.
Document Verification Rules
• Document verifications rules will be same as round 1. Document verification process will be
operational only for new candidates.
Spot Round Choice Filling & Locking
• Only those candidates, who will have paid the participation fee and documents have been verified,
will be allowed to fill the choices.
• All the choices will be shown to the candidate irrespective whether seat is available or not
because during processing few virtual vacancies may be arisen.
• For all provisionally admitted candidates, who have already paid the admission fee, if they desired
to participate in the Spot Round then during choice filling, the provisionally admitted campus &
program where he/she has already completed admission will not be appear in the list of available
choices. After locking, the admitted choice will automatically be added in the last position of newly
filled choices.
• ‘Lock Choice’ button will be enabled as per counselling schedule.
• If candidates fail to explicitly lock their choices by last date & time, their last saved choices will be
automatically locked by system after this deadline.
• All the features supporting for choice filling will be same as main counselling choice filling process.
Seat Allotment
• Choices of all such candidates who have completed all the steps will be processed as per rules.
• Last allotted choice of all admitted candidates of previous rounds, who have not participated in the
Spot Round of counselling, will also be processed for category upgradation only.
• Conversion of Seat will be applicable in the Spot Round of seat allotment as per conversion rules /
Admissions Guidelines.

Seat Conversion Rules
• First Seat Allotment will be process to all eligible candidates as per merit.
• Then conversion of PwD seats into respective parent category i.e.
o Open (PwD) --> Open
o EWS(PwD) --> EWS
o OBC (NCL) (PwD) --> OBC (NCL)
o SC (PwD) --> SC
o ST (PwD) --> ST and re-allotment
• Then conversion of EWS=>Open, OBC (NCL) => Open at least after completion of two rounds of

ANNEXURE- IV
UNDERTAKING FOR REFUND OF FEE
1. I confirm and state that the certificates furnished by me are true and correct to the best of my
knowledge. No part of it is false or fabricated and nothing has been concealed. I hereby undertake that
if any certificate submitted by me is found to be false/fabricated or not conforming to the stipulated
standards mentioned in the Admission Guidelines, my admission will be cancelled without any notice
and the fee paid by me will be forfeited.
2. I confirm and state that I have undergone the admission formalities as laid down in the Prospectus-2024
of NIFT. I understand that if I fail to submit the proof of eligibility by the stipulated date, my admission
will be automatically cancelled.

4. I accept that the refund against my withdrawal of the allotted seat shall be refunded as per the above
guideline.
5. I also undertake that I will not bring any outside pressure on NIFT authorities in any regard and if found,

ANNEXURE -V
MEDICAL CERTIFICATE OF FITNESS
Candidate must fill the details of the Form-A before medical examination by the Medical Officer in any
Government Hospital. Form B is to be filled by the Medical Officer. The officer will also certify the fitness of the
candidate and attest the photograph of the candidate.
