Training Program – 2 – 21 December 2012


Prof. Xiao Jie - Capital Institute of Physical Education, Beijing

1.Participants
Younger players who are trained or interested in Badminton around age under 19 and
come from different countries.

2. Objective
This training camp is featured as badminton learning, training and competition in
a Chinese way. Through skills training and competition, participants will acquire
and master the basic skills and knowledge of badminton. In addition, the Chinese
language learning class and other recreational activities will help the players
learn Chinese culture, society and facilitate the mutual understanding between
the peoples of the different countries.

3. Training Contents
To learn the basic skills( arm-work and foot-work in Chinese way), strategies and rules of
playing badminton.
To improve the player’s fitness.
To learn some Chinese Language (elementary level).

Personal Introduction

 Badminton Training
I started playing badminton when I was eight years old. From 1998 to 2003 I was
training badminton and studying under Guang Zhou Wei Lun Sports boarding School.

In 2004 I obtained professional badminton training under China National under


Junior Scholarship Team.

From 2004 to 2007 I obtained professional badminton training under China National
Junior Team

 Academic Study
From 2005 to 2009 completed Bachelor of Physical Training at the Guangzhou Sports
University .

From 2007 to 2008 studied English in New Zealand for one year.

From 2009 until now studying Master of Physical Training at the Beijing Sports
University .

From 2011 to 2012 studied English Literary and coached Badminton at University of
Cambridge as a visiting student.

Brief Profile of Tang Xianhu

Tang Xianhu, one of the greatest badminton player and coach, the
lifelong honorary advisor of China Badminton National Team serves as
the schoolmaster and chief coach of Dongguan Li Yongbo Badminton
School at present.
He was honored as 'Champion of Champions', 'Uncrowned King of the
Badminton Sport', and 'Legendary Coach'. All the top three of men's
single in 1992 Barcelona Olympics and 2000 Sydney Olympics had used
to be trained by Mr. Tang Xianhu.
The first grand slam badminton player, reigning Olympic champion, Lin
Dan from China was also the disciple of this master.
