It’s time to get playful with your little learners!

Here are some simple activity ideas to inspire your play this month!

Use an old salt shaker and some
matchsticks for a simple DIY
posting activity! Your baby can
then post the matchsticks into the
holes on the top of the salt shaker,
further working on those fine motor
skills!
Add 3 tablespoons of food dye to a
pot of boiling water. Cook some
spaghetti and once cooled, add to
a sensory tub for your baby to
explore. This is suitable after 7
months of age if your baby has no
allergies and is eating solids. Close
supervision required.
Cut up a packet of straws and add
them to a bowl. Your little learner
can thread them onto a pipe cleaner
as a wonderful fine motor
strengthening activity.
Invite your child to do some painting
by adding some washable paints to
a tray with some different painting
tools (sponges, cotton buds, old
tooth brushes, old toy cars, sticks
and branches from the garden).
Using a range of different tools will
help develop their fine motor skills!
Add some animal figurines to an
ice cube tray or empty container.
Top it up with some water and
freeze as normal. Once frozen,
have your little learner use pipettes
of warm water or a hammer to
rescue the animals!
Create easy DIY story stones
together! Collect some small
stickers from the dollar store, some
flat pebbles from the hardware
store and some Mod Podge or PVA
glue from the craft store. Stick the
stickers down onto the rocks and
then seal with Mod Podge or PVA.
