explanations whenever fit or possible.

1. What is Operation Management? What is the relationship of the operations function with
the other core functions of the organization? Explain. (20points)

Ans. Operation Management is evolving and growing, and always updating. This
involves managing the operations of a certain business including the planning, organizing, and
supervising necessary improvement if any. The relationship of the operations function with
the other core functions of the organization is direct, open, and necessary as it directly
affects the areas of human resources, management, and budget. Simply because the operation
function serves as the lifeblood of any organization, ensuring that all other functions can work
together efficiently. For example, the operation functions within human resources is to ensure
that they are putting the right person in the right job otherwise they will have the necessary
training for that employee. Also, they will make sure that the operation of the employee will run
smoothly and effectively.

2. Why is operations management important in all types of organizations?

Ans: Operations management is important in all types of organizations because of the


following factors;
a) To have an efficient operation that helps to streamline processes and reduce waste
such as the effective use of resources which can lower the cost of the company.
b) In case of Customer Satisfaction, the operation management shall ensure the timely
delivery and high quality of products and services that are significant for customer
satisfaction and loyalty.

3. How do operations processes have different characteristics? Give typology of operations


differences. Explain? (20 points)

Ans. The operations process has different characteristics depending on the nature,
interactions, and requirements of that process. The following are the typology of
operations differences; a) the lead time, the operations is different of the timeline of an
order or request. The different lead times may differ based on efficiency and resource
availability. b) the degree of automation of the operation. The extent of the technology
and automation can vary the operations process because some of the organizations are
now using robots or advanced technology.

4. What is the transformation model? Explain the model (20 points)


Ans: The transformation model emphasizes the importance of understanding the various
aspects of the operations such as the inputs, processes, and outputs. It helps
organizations identify and identify the key elements of their operations to achieve
customer satisfaction and loyalty. The transformation model provides a structured
approach to understanding and managing the operations process, enabling
organizations to enhance their performance and achieve their strategic objective. Below

5. What is operation strategy? Make a diagram and explain your diagram/ (20 points)
Ans. Operations strategy is the approach, consistent with the organization strategy that
is used to guide the operations function. It refers to decisions and actions taken to
