Your English-speaking friend, Carol, is doing a presentation at school about teenagers
and sport. Read part of Carol’s letter.
I have to do a presentation at college on the subject of teenagers and sport in different
countries. I’d like to include your country, and it would be great if you could help me.
I’d like to know which sports are the most popular amongst teenagers in your country,
both to play and to watch. Could you give me some information about this?
In my country, lots of teenagers have posters of sports celebrities in their bedroom.
What about the teenagers in your country?
Please write back soon.
Write an email responding to Carol. You should write at least 120 words. You are not
allowed to include your name

Dear Carol,

I’m pleased to receive your letter. I think the topic of the presentation is exciting/
interesting. I’ll give you some information/tips about what you asked/what you want
to know.

In my opinion, the most common sport that youngsters in my country often watch and
play is football/volleyball. You know this team-sport is famous worldwide, and in my
country, it is also preferable/ more suitable. Almost every school has a football/
volleyball playground, and students often play it after the lesson/class.

Besides, we are also attracted by many football/volleyball championships on TV like

World Cup or Europe Championship/ Volleyball Nations League. So we can enjoy the
professional skills of many famous footballers/ volleyballers around the world.

About the posters of sports celebrities, I believe that most teenagers in my country
also have some pictures of their sports idols in their bedroom/study zone.
Traditionally/ Usually, we often cut them out from sports magazines and stick/hang
them on the wall to show our admiration.

That’s all I think you need to know about the popular sports in my country. If you
need any further assistance/help, do not hesitate/ delay to write.

I look forward to seeing you soon, and thanks again!/ I am looking forward to your
reply soon.

Best regards,/ Best wishes,/ Your regards,
