India will host the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO)
Tourism Ministers' Meeting (TMM) on March 17-18 in Kashi
(Varanasi), which has been designated as the first cultural capital of
the SCO.

The eight-member countries of SCO represent around 42 per cent of the
world population and 25 per cent of the global Gross domestic product

The SCO currently comprises eight Member States - China,
India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Pakistan, Tajikistan and
Uzbekistan, four Observer States interested in acceding to full
membership - Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran, and Mongolia as well
as six Dialogue Partners - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia,
Nepal, Sri Lanka and Turkey.

The first international conference of Shanghai Cooperation
Organization (SCO) on Shared Buddhist Heritage has begun in New
Delhi.

The aim of the two-day conference is to re-establish trans-cultural

links and seek out commonalities, between Buddhist art of Central
Asia, art styles, archaeological sites and antiquity in various museum
collections of the SCO countries.

The event, a first of its kind, under India’s leadership of SCO (for a
period of one-year, from 17 September, 2022 until September
2023) brings together Central Asian, East Asian, South Asian and
Arab countries on a common platform to discuss “Shared Buddhist
Heritage”.

India has signed an agreement with World Bank to construct
the Green National Highway Corridors Project in four
States.

The agreement has been signed for the construction of 781 kilometers in
these States, with loan assistance of 500 million dollars.
