But how do you define real impact? Do you define impact by the total number of followers or likes? Do you define impact by being invited to the right places with the right people? Or maybe you define impact by achievements, where your contribution to the world is measured in trophies or scores. f so, here's o hard truth: trophies ond likes con make an impoc!, bul not iruly matter. Real impact happens when God works in us and through us. And when we grasp this ruth, the way we see our lives ond the world around us changes. Make lt Matter shows how much difference a life empowered by the Word can make; how Jesus is the power source for a life that matters; how God designed us to impact the people in our path; and how trusting in God's plan is the key to real impact. Join us as we discover together what it means to Moke It Matter. Day 1: The Word of God Day 2: The Work of God Day 3: The Way of God Day 4: The Will of God The big event is finally here! We’re so excited that you've encouraged and allowed your child to participate. It's going to be an amazing time of fun, community, and meaningful spiritual growth. As promised, here is the document that will help you know exactly what your teenager will be learning over the course of the event, where our theme is Make it Matter. As I mentioned in the previous letter, your teenager is going to learn what it means to live a life of impact that truly matters. Your teenager will learn these truths most intently in his or her small group time. For each small group session your child will participate in, I've included both an overview of the content and some suggested takeaways you could utilize to help your child apply these truths in his or her life. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to give me a call. Again, thank you for your support and the amazing job you do of steering your child's spiritual growth. Make it Matter Small Group Session 1 The first session focuses on Acts 4:1-13. The purpose of the session is to help students learn that a life of real impact flows out of the Word working in and through our lives. Next Steps * Is there an importance to learning Scripture? Why? * What are some ways we could focus on Scripture more as a family? * What is the result of experiencing God? How would it make us look different in how we react? Make it Matter Small Group Session 2 ‘The second session focuses on 1 Corinthians 15:3-11. The purpose of the session is for students to learn that a life of real impact is only possible because of the work Jesus did. Impact does not come from our ability to perform or succeed. Next Steps... * "Where in your world do you feel the pressure to measure up to what you see around you? * Why is it hard sometimes to accept grace when you know you haven’t earned it? * [sit important to try and do well in life even though God’s grace is enough? Why should we still strive to help others when we know Christ will forgive us? Make it Matter Small Group Session 3 The third session focuses on Romans 16. The purpose of the session is to help students learn that a life of real impact is empowered by a Gospel-centered friendship. The Christian walk was not meant to be made alone, and community plays a large role in our lives. Next Steps. . . +” Why does it matter who we surround ourselves with? * If someone were to describe you to another person, what words would they use? * What are some ways to be a biblical friend or to live out the example of the early Church to. our friends today? Make it Matter Small Group Session 4 The fourth and final session focuses on Genesis 12. This final session teaches us that a life of real impact is found through living out God’s will for us. God’s will can be a big topic to try to understand, and it brings lots of pressure (and sometimes even confusion). We want to help students understand that God wants what is truly best for us in order that we would live a life that will have Kingdom impact. Next Steps... * What pressures do you face regarding your future? How would you feel if God showed up here right now and told you exactly what impact your life would have? Would that be comforting or scary? Why? How does it make you feel knowing that the only measure of success you should strive to meet is God’s?
