before commence of erection of general equipments (stator and rotary), steel
structures, etc, for achieving the Quality as per Client specification &
requirement, drawing, approve procedure/ manufacture recommendation
standard & code.
2.2. This procedure not cover activities the special equipments (Turbo,
compressor, Turbine, etc)
3.0. OBJECTIVES
Assuring the grouting materials and any other requirements of grouting mixing,
placing, and sampling, testing and recording of the results as required by
contract requirement.
4.0. REFERENCES
The following specification prescribe item of related works:
4.1. PBI 1971 Indonesia Concrete Standards.
4.2. ACI American Concrete Institute Standards.
4.3. ASTM C 94 Water Tests
4.4. ASTM C 39 Compressive Strength of Cylindrical Concrete Specimens
5.0. Description Procedure
5.1. Check Document Approval
5.1.1. Check Drawing, data requirement of grouting.
5.1.2. Check Elevation to top of grout
5.1.3. If any check anchor bolt and projection
5.1.4. If any shimming and leveling screw required.
5.1.5. Check Elevation to top of mounting plate
5.1.6. Check Grouting material and estimation.
5.1.7. Check grout pocket location
5.1.8. Check forming detail
5.1.9. Base plate grouting and vent holes
5.2. Material Inspection
5.2.1. Grouting Material
5.2.1.1. Check the grouting material in easy to use (mix with water
only) dry powder form (25 kg/bag), and designed for
pouring.
5.2.1.2. Ensuring the validation of expired dated on the bag cover,
or manufacturer recommended.
5.2.1.3. Ensure the batch number of grouting material have printed
on bags.
5.2.2. Water
Water used for mixing grouting may potable water, clean and free
from injurious amounts of oils, acids, alkalis, organic materials or
other deleterious substances.
5.2.3. Storage of Material
5.2.3.1. kept and not allowed to open bags before use.
5.2.3.2. Storage shall be suitable shelters.
5.2.3.3. The bags shall be placed at least 50 mm above grounding.
5.3. Inspection of all equipments and Tools Preparation to be installed
on grouting as per manufacturer recommended.
5.3.1. MSDS shall be available and reviewed by grouting personnel.
5.3.2. Protective bodies shall be available (goggles, face shields, gloves,
dust masks) if required.
5.4. Inspection Preparation Anchor Bolt before concreting
5.4.1. If any sleeve, check the cleaning & drying and have been filled with
on bonding moldable material.
5.4.2. The anchor bolt threads should be covered with tape or other to keep
them clear and to prevent any damage and to prevent any damage
that might occur during the chipping & grouting operation.
5.4.3. Check all anchor bolt, location projections, diameters to match the
anchor bolt hole, pattern in the mounting plate prior to grouting.
5.5. Inspection Foundation Curing
5.5.1. The foundation shall be cured for at least 7 days (seven days) per
ACI 301 prior to grout preparation (For general Equipments &
Machinery)
5.5.2. Epoxy grout shall never be poured on uncured concrete. Concrete
must also be exposed to a drying out period to ensure that the
capillaries are free of moisture and will provide proper grout bonding.
5.6. Inspection Foundation Preparation before installation
5.6.1. Check the surface roughness of foundation that be done by chipping
25 – 50 mm, grinding or wire brush.
5.6.2. Check a weather protective cover for grouting.
5.6.2.1. During extreme temperature or Rain weather equipment
and foundation should be covered with a shelter to keep
the uncovered grout from being exposed to direct sunlight,
dew, mist or rain.
5.6.2.2. Check temp the entire foundation & equipment to above
180C (650F) for at least 48 hours prior to and after grouting.
5.6.2.3. Check foundation from free of contamination by oil, dirt,
water, etc
5.6.2.4. Check the surface roughness of foundation that be done by
chipping, grinding or wire brush.
5.7. Inspection of Padding and Packer Plate (if any)
5.7.1. Check Space for grouting and shall not be less 50 mm.
5.7.2. Check the interval between liners shall not exceed 800 mm.
5.7.3. Make sure that the plate liners shall be installed at the level and
positions with pad cement grout.
5.7.4. At least three (3) days may equipment install.

CURING PADDING

5.8. Inspection of Form Work

5.8.1. The formwork shall be designed in such a way that they cannot be
displaced during the pouring substrate.
5.8.2. Joint in the formwork and any gaps at the junction between the
formwork and the substrate of the new installation shall be sealed
by using Sponge to prevent leakages of the grout

Form work

5.9. Inspection of Mixing

5.9.1. Check the mixing process of grouting. (water, mixing vessel) until to
achieve an even consistency. Mixing Tool Must be have 400-600 RPM
for mix well the grouting.
5.10. Inspection of Pouring
5.10.1. Make sure that Pouring will be done with approved method.
5.10.2. Make sure the grouting pour have infused to all surfaces.

5.11. Inspection of Curing

5.11.1. Check the exposed surfaces covered with plastic sheeting or damp
clothes immediately after placing to prevent premature loss of
moisture through evaporation.
5.11.2. Make sure no Load applied on the grout until compressive strength
of the grout reaches seventy-five percent (75%) of the specified
strength or until the grout has been moist cured for at least seven
(7) days.
5.12. Sampling and Testing
5.12.1. Sampling
Make sure the specimens kept in a moist condition and kept under
water. The temperature of this water 18 oC to 22 oC. Make sure
for monitoring age of testing 7 & 28 Days.
SAMPLE CUBES TEST

5.12.2. Testing

3 at 7 days and another 3 at 28 days and witnessed by
the Owner.
5.12.2.2. One test sample of grout will be taken, for each day,
regardless of surface.

5.12.3. Criteria of Test Results.

5.12.3.1. Laboratory test shall be considered satisfactory, if the
nominal strengths are equal or more than design
strength.
5.12.3.2. When the results of compression test of 28 days, indicate
that the nominal strengths are inferior to the design
strength.
