Reflection Paper on Problem Solving Method

Task: Answer the following questions attached below. Refer to the slide presentation
sent and to the other references to enrich and substantiate your answers on those
questions.

1. Discuss problem solving as a teaching method and a skill to be developed in


elementary schools.

 Problem-solving is one of the most difficult task to do when it comes to


mathematics. It is also a student-centered strategy in which they are
required to become active participants in the learning process. It can be
also an Collaborative approach in which the student will enjoy participating
with his/her classmates. Students are required to find their own way or the
given of finding the solution. This is said to be as a student centered
strategy wherein the teacher will let his/her students to find their own way
of solving a problem.
2. Choose a teaching method used in teaching Mathematics. Using Venn diagram,
state the similarities and differences of the chosen to method with problem
solving method.

dealing with problem solving. Then, think of a specific intervention for each that
