Prevention and Mitigation and Preparedness are done before the onset of the hazard or disaster. Prev and mit are
typically physical/engineering intervention and preparedness are more like capacity bldg.

Response interventions are undertaken during or in the midst of the hazard or disaster (common error here is writing
preparedness or prevention and mitigation interventions under response). Typical example: First aid
Rehabilitation and Recovery are implemented after the hazards or disaster; maybe similar to prevention and
mitigation and preparedness but the difference is the period when they are undertaken. Example: elevation of the
pathway was not high enough during prevention and mitigation so during the rehab and recovery you elevate further
the pathways.
