Voltage drops calculations:

Table 7.5 Voltage Drop for Multi core LV cables

According to the use of El Sewedy catalog. Whenever the cable section area varies,
the cable resistance varies per meter per ampere. According to the table shown we have made
the following equations to calculate voltage drop for each used cable.

𝑅 × 10−3 × 𝐼𝑟 × 𝐿
𝑉𝐷% =
𝑉𝑏𝑎𝑠𝑒
In short, the equation VD% is equal to:

𝑅 × 𝐼𝑟 × 𝐿
𝑉𝐷% = 3800
Where
(R): Cable resistance, which varies with the size of the cable section.
(Ir): Rated current passing in cable.
(L): Length of cable.

Table S.C Calculations Cables

The short circuit calculations start from the transformer to the MDB, passing by the
SMBs then the final DBs, and we calculated the short circuit at the transformer according to
the equations:
𝑆𝑛𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑙
𝑆𝑆.𝐶 =
𝑍𝑃.𝑈
𝑆𝑆.𝐶
𝐼𝑆.𝐶 =
𝑉𝑏𝑎𝑠𝑒
Where:
S normal: Rated of transformer.
Z p.u: From data sheet of transformer.
V base: (400 v).

By moving away from the transformer, the short circuit value decreases as the cable
length increases and is calculated through the Schneider catalog tables.

(7) After completing the short circuit calculations at the transformer, theCables
MDB, and the
final panels, we make sure that each cable withstands the short circuit current through it by
knowing the breaker circuit break time of the cable and the cross-section area of cable
through the Elsewedy catalog.
