 ABSTRACT

A movie poster is a type of poster that gives an idea about the

movie. For example, movie characters, movie category, story
line, release date etc. Movie posters work a lot in attracting the
audience. A movie will be successful is totally decided by the
poster of the movie. Therefore, the demand for movie poster
design is constantly increasing day by day. Keep in mind that,
as a graphic designer I try to make an upcoming action movie
poster, named " The Roundup: Punishment "

INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction:
Graphic design not only makes something look good; it
organizes information to help deliver a message in the most
impactful way possible. When we combine the right image, a
well-written headline, professionally executed in a well-
established package, then a wonderful work comes!

1.2 Motivation:
There are different types of movies in the world. Among them
some are great movies that teach people to live. ‘The
Shawshank Redemption’ is one of them. These movies
sometimes make people laugh, sometimes cry, sometimes
think. When these creative movie posters are made, a great will
power works in me.

1.3 Report Layout:

The details of my project are organised into five chapters.
Chapter 1: Introduction.
Chapter 2: Background Study.
Chapter 3: Requirement and Specification.
Chapter 4: Work Process.
Chapter 5: My Own Evolution.

BACKGROUND STUDY

2.1 Challenges:
A lot of movies I have been watched, so movie posters are
related to it. In this case, I used The Roundup series starring by
DON LEE.
However, it was very difficult to get a picture of the character.
In that case, I took pictures from Google, Pinterest, Pngwing.
After getting more images from online, I found inspiration from
some action movie posters. Some references: -

REQUIREMENT AND SPECIFICATION

3.1 Adobe Photoshop 2024:

Adobe photoshop is a raster graphics editor developed and
published by Adobe for Windows and macOS. It was originally
created in 1987 by Thomas and John Knoll. Since then, the
software has become the most used tool for professional digital
art, especially in raster graphics editing. Photoshop can edit and
compose raster images in multiple layers and supports masks,
alpha compositing and several colour models. Photoshop uses
its own PSD and PSB file formats to support these features.
Latest version 25.0 was released in September 2023. This
version added generative fill and generative expand for
commercial use.

3.2 Hardware Specification:

My computer setup boasts an Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB of
RAM, making it well suited for graphic design tasks.
• Processor: Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-10700k CPU @3.80
GHz, 3.79 GHz
• Installed RAM: 16 GB

WORK PROCESS

4.1 Thought process:

I first tried to put the main character and the villain opposite
each other and there would be a police car in front of them.
There would be a blur view of the city behind. Then I tried to
give the names of the characters and the release date of this
film.
For collecting images, I used Pinterest, Google, PngWings.

There are two main parts of my workflow,

• Production
• Post-production

4.2 Production:
At first, I started with a 2592*3840 px canvas in Photoshop
2024 and get a solid colour from adjustment panel.

Then I added city and car images. Then I used the motion blur
on those images.

Thirdly I added two characters and used light glow effect on
the faces of those characters as well as the background colour.

Then I added necessary text. This is very important part.

Finally, I added logo mark and this is mostly important for
any type of movie poster.

4.3 Post Production:

At last, the most important thing is the Camera Raw Filter. It
helps to enhance the colours of the final output.

MY OWN EVALUATION

Having seen a lot of movies, there was no problem while

making the poster. But at the very fast, watching too many
movies, I could not find what kind of poster should be made.
Therefore, I took a different path, first I thought of making a
movie poster based on the character “Kutu Mia” written by
Humayun Ahmed. But I could not find enough pictures to make
this character real.
In the end, I had to resort to Korean movies. It is also very
difficult to get actual pictures. Knowing the basic steps of
poster designing and learning about colour theory, I tried to
make a perfect movie poster.
I think if I knew about all the Photoshop tools, I would make a
better poster. I am interested in making movie posters. I will try
to do better in future.
