Project Assignment brief

Group Project Assignment Brief:

Your group has been appointed as strategy consultants for your chosen international
company. Using only secondary information sources as part of the international
strategic planning process of this company your group is required to carry out:

• an external global environmental scan,

• an industry analysis,
• the identification of most relevant international competitors,
• an internal analysis at business level,
• a description of strategic capabilities for international operation,
• the identification of strategic options,
• the chosen archetype international strategy of multidomestic, global or
transnational, and
• a chosen ‘best’ international strategy recommendations for the company.

The final report should be formatted in Times New Roman, 12 font, 1.5 spacing. The
entire assignment should be no longer than 2500 words (including, for instance, title
page, table of contents, footnotes, appendices). Assignments that exceed the word
count will be penalised by 10%. Please note that conventional academic referencing is
not required in a strategic report of this nature but references such as articles, press,
company reports and websites can be footnoted. No final bibliography is required
outside of footnotes.

Administration of Project

The project report is due for submission at TBC. Students who submit coursework
after the due date, without medical or other formally excusable reasons, will be
deducted 10% of the mark for each of the first three days, then a mark of zero for that
coursework.
