Getting busier and busier

The faint chirping of the birds broke the silence as the early morning sun cast a light glow on the
near-empty streets. The tranquillity began to break as the newspaper boy rang the bell of his
old, but steadfast cycle.

The quiet of dawn was quickly disrupted as the clock struck 8 and the streets came alive with
the hustle and bustle of people rushing to get to work. Shops braced themselves for the morning
frenzy as pavements flooded. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee drifted and mingled with the
exhaust fumes from buses, as the conversation sounds radiated from every direction. The
baristas worked together like a symphony, orchestrating the preparation of the onslaught of
orders while staying unruffled. The day had just begun.

By noon, the streets were a cacophony of voices. The marketplace bustled with shoppers and
vendors wrangling about price and quantity. The marketplace was a thriving tapestry of life and
activity. Paper bags rustled and crinkled as eager shoppers struggled to fit every item in their
bags. Office works poured out of the skyscraper-like buildings, rushing to make the most of their
short lunch breaks. Delivery staff and postmen zigzagged through the clogged streets with
packages of all sizes and shapes.

As the sun reached its zenith, the city was filled with peak activity. The movement and noises
created a vibrant sense of energy and life. The urgency created almost palpable tension as
parents rushed to pick their child up from school and workers glared at the clocks, willing them
to move faster. Productivity had vanished as office workers thought about what they would do
when they went back to the comfort of their homes. Friends and partners called workers’
phones but in their eyes, the time moved slower than it ever had.

As evening approached, the city’s vibrancy subsided, making way for a more tranquil and placid
atmosphere. The sun began its exit below the horizon as the streets emptied out and people
returned home. The city seemed to exhale with relief, glad to survive another day. Shopkeepers
began to lower their shutters and the bright light from the streetlight intertwined with the dim
glow of the full moon.

The energy and its vibrancy and variations were a testament to the life of the city while the
ceaseless, but diverse, rhythm of the city acted like its heartbeat.
