Cause of the hazard Non-compliant single-use plastic bags are still being provided to customers
by some staff members.

biodegrade; instead, they disintegrate into smaller, more hazardous
petropolymers that contaminate soils and waterways over time.

 Non-compliant single-use plastic bags removed from the area
completely instead following measures have been introduced;
 Takeaway coffee cups replaced with reusable “keep” cups,
“swap-and-go” schemes or disposable, paperboard-lined
cups.
 Paper or bagasse, a byproduct of sugarcane, might be used to
make takeaway coffee cup lids.
 Switched to more compostable and recyclable alternatives to
plastic bags.
