Lesson 1 Reflection Paper

In this lesson, I learned that to be an effective communicator, I need to show that communication can be
a continuous process which mostly involves on the message, sender of the message, and receiver of the
message. For example, when I send an email to the preferred recipient, the receiver should receive the
email that I sent. But, if I send the email to the wrong recipient, then I can explain to the receiver that it
was my fault for doing this and I should apologize to him/her for sending the wrong message. This could
lead to misunderstanding to who the person that I should send the message to. Also, I need to
understand that communication can happen everywhere when I have online classes or even go to work.
For me, I had a problem with socialization with my friends before when I was in high school because I
always spend time talking to my best friends more than my classmates. I always get quite a lot before.
It’s hard to make friends when I don’t have good communication skills. But, when I started my college
life in MINT College last 2017, I started to make a lot of friends who are not just in IT/CS, but also from
other courses like Multimedia Arts, Entrepreneurship, Film & Video, and many more. I made a lot of
friends such as Daniel, Justin, Powee, JC, Jun Carl, Aerial, Abby, Wayna, Marc, and many. I always visit
Daniel at his condo when I have lunch break or my free time. For me, I always spend time him eating
lunch or play PS4. It was really a fun experience. Also, when it comes to interference, there always a
language barrier. So, I always talk mostly in English, but I can still talk half Filipino language. I really
believe that language barrier always happens everywhere when you go other countries like Japan or
even Singapore. Every foreigner should learn how to speak Mandarin or even Japanese so that he/she
can understand what the foreigner is saying. For me, communication has to be effective in terms of
clarity, concreteness, courtesy, consideration, conciseness, and even captivating because without
communication, then we could have misunderstood or worse everything will become senseless, and life
becomes emotionless. Also, it would be impossible to imagine the world without happiness and love. I
had to understand that communication has to be more efficient and productive when it comes to
creating relationship with my family, friends, or everyone. Just remember that communication is the
only key to understand and create healthy relationships or bonds.
