Sir/Ma’am

Sub : Problem of Increasing Stress Faced by Students

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to shed light on the
escalating issue of heightened stress among students, largely stemming from the
intensely competitive academic environment.

In today's fast-paced world, the landscape is rife with cutthroat competition. Children
find themselves constantly under scrutiny, assessed on various fronts. The
expectations placed on them by their parents are substantial, with the desire for
excellence in academics, sports, and extracurricular pursuits. The prevailing notion
often revolves around steering children towards becoming doctors or engineers,
inadvertently subjecting them to undue stress and overwhelming burdens.
Consequently, their entire day becomes a relentless cycle of completing
assignments and studies, leaving scant time for recreation and physical activities.

It is imperative that we reflect on this pressing issue and contemplate viable

solutions. Encouraging students to actively participate in sports, games, and yoga
can serve as a potent antidote to the stress epidemic. Additionally, parents must re-
evaluate their expectations and resist the urge to excessively pressure their children
to achieve academic perfection. Introducing meditation practices can prove
instrumental in helping students manage and alleviate stress effectively.

In essence, it is crucial to recognize the detrimental impact of excessive academic

pressure on students and actively promote a more holistic approach to education—
one that prioritizes their mental and physical well-being alongside academic
achievements.
I hope my letter finds a due space in your esteemed newspaper and the people be
aware of the issue

Thanking you
Yours truly
Rekha / Rakesh
