Year 8 Home Learning Challenge: “The Fight for Cable Street”

The Wall Street Crash of October 1929 caused a world-wide economic depression. Germany suffered greatly and is a
contributing factor as to why Hitler and the Nazis took control in 1933. However, Britain was one of the first countries to be
affected by America’s financial crisis. A consequence of this was that the British Union of Fascists gained popularity in
Britain, which bore the resemblance of the Nazis in Germany and Mussolini’s Fascist Party in Italy.
