MAXIMUM POWER TRANSFER and

STAR TO DELTA TRANSFORMATIONS

THEOREMS
This theorem states that maximum
output is obtained from a network
or source when the load resistance
is equal to the network or source
resistance
With AC networks maximum power output is
obtained when the resistive components of the
source impedance and the load impedance are
equal, and when the reactive components of the
source impedance and load impedance are equal
in magnitude but opposite in sign. This means the
load impedance must be the conjugate of the
source impedance.
Example
Find the load impedance in Figure for maximum power
to the load, and find the maximum power.
