CHITUBOX SUPPORT CONFIG FOR X-ONE,

X-FILIGREE V2 AND SUPPORTING TIPS

For maximum detail and proper performance, please consider using No-FEP - PFA. These support
guidelines have made supposing the tank film is good condition.

For all resin, prior to use, it is necessary to heat the bottle within the temperature range of 30
to 45°C. The optimal operating range is from 20 to 30°C. Due to the use of a low-temperature
melting polymer, the resin solidifies below 18°C. Various methods can be used to heat the resin,
such as microwave ovens (never exceeding 45 seconds FOR THE FULL AND CAPPED BOTTLE),
ultrasonic cleaners, hot air, baby bottle warmer, etc.

Only for X-one, always due to the use of a low-temperature melting polymer, the minimum
supports (the initial pattern supports) must be larger than usual. The ring sprue can be designed
within the model and used as the main support. Avoid using contact points under 0.4 mm and
ensure proper support for the shank of the rings.

Failure to filter the resin after each print or neglecting to heat the resin before each print may
result in printing failures.

GENERAL SETINGS

These settings are common to all support style (Light – Medium – Heavy). For these resin the
platform adhesion is strong and raft it is not needed if the tank film perform properly.

I have sticking platform issue.

What do I have to do?

As first you have to filter the resin. Before running the Z-Axis
calibration, ensure that your build platform is planar by checking
it with a calibrated bar. If it is not flat, you can fix this issue by
using 150/200 grade sandpaper to sand the build platform.
Perform the Z-Axis calibration according to the instructions
provided by the manufacturer. This calibration will help ensure
the proper alignment and functioning of the printer's
components.
Ensure that your models are fixed and correct. Make sure there
are no broken parts in the model that could affect the printing
process.
Once you have confirmed the model's integrity, check the layers
of the sliced file to ensure they are accurately prepared for
printing.
By following these steps, you can troubleshoot and address the
sticking platform issue more effectively.

How can I increase platform model adhesion?

To enhance platform model adhesion, you can try the following methods: increase the official
exposure time by 10% only for the bottom layer, sand the build platform using 150/200 grade
sandpaper, and pre-heat the resin before printing.

SUPPORT STRATEGY

Any kind of model require a different approach and even if you can use auto-support tool as
start point, we strongly suggest setting the supports manually.

For standard designs like engagement rings and diamond rings you can print them vertical but
please take care to place a proper number of supports all along the shank, especially if you
are using standard FEP. With PFA you can drastically reduce the number of the supports.

When you print vertical, in order to avoid cracks, you have to pay attention were solid parts
grow separately and a certain point they stick together. Because different volume, surface and
weight the peeling is critic and supports are needed beside the intersections.

In case of light designs, you can use less supports but always in a proper number near to the
growing starting point.

To use the sprues as main support is a good practice and it improve the adhesion and permit to
use less supports.

Some kind of design have always a better way how to be printed and supported.

For band rings with details all around the best way is to rotate them parallel to the platform. In
order to avoid collapses we suggest to place a supports every 3 mm.

To rotate by 30 / 60° the heavy models (like man and celebration rings) reduce the peeling
forces and you can expect less visible layers.

With X-Filigree V2 and for filigree design you can confidentially use light supports.

MEDIUM SUPPORT SETTING

It is the most used support style and you can use it for any kind of design. The
“shape” contact sphere it will make easy the support removal operation. You
can use it for X-One and X-Filigree V2 as well, like near to the growing starting
point.

Pay attention, the BOTTOM “platform Touch Shape” have to be set as “NONE”

HEAVY SUPPORT SETTING

We strongly suggest to use this config for the massive patterns and near to the
growing starting point.

Pay attention, the BOTTOM “platform Touch Shape” have to be set as “NONE”

LIGHT SUPPORT SETTING

For light details like prongs or filigree design with X-Filigree V2 you can use the
light support settings with confidence.

Pay attention, the BOTTOM “platform Touch Shape” have to be set as “NONE”
