ELECTRICITY ON MOTORCYCLES

ELECTRICITY ON MOTORCYCLES
Tools on motorbikes use a lot of electrical equipment to support existing equipment
Broadly speaking, the electrical system on a motorcycle can be divided into several parts as
below.

ENGINE IGNITION SYSTEM

1. Battery
2. Generator
3. Ignition lock
4. Platinum
5. CDI Unit
6. Coil
7. Spark Plug
8. Condenser

CHARGING SYSTEM

1. Battery
2. Generator
3. Regulator
4. Rectifier

LIGHTING SYSTEM

1. Headlight fixture
2. Twilight fixtures
3. Taillight fixture

SIGNS SYSTEM

1. Horn
2. Meter machine
3. Oil indicator light
4. Brake light
5. Turn light
6. Neutral light

STARTER SYSTEM

1. Motor starter
2. Relay starter
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM DIAGRAM ON MOTORCYCLE:

MOTORCYCLE POWER GENERATOR

In engine performance systems, magnets function to generate electrical power. For that,
the magnet is equipped with two types of spool. Inside the magnet there is also a pulser that
reads the signal through the difference in the magnetic field due to rotation in the magnetic
chamber.
The first type of spool is usually called the lamp or body electrical spool. This spool
serves to multiply the current sent to the battery. Then the battery stores the next current and is
channeled to the lights when the switch is 'on'.
The other spool is called the ignition electrical spool. Its job is to amplify the electric
current to meet the needs of ignition. The plot starts from the spool to the CDI. From this device,
the coil is then raised and finally enters the spark plug electrode and sparks a fire.
The rhythm of the two types of current from the magnetic chamber is regulated by the
pulser. The method used, simply by reading the magnetic differences that occur in this magnetic
chamber. If you intend to improve engine performance, mechanics usually apply competition
magnets.
The character of this magnet is the same as the standard type. Only there is no place to
lean on the body's electrical spool. There is only a round disc, ignition spool and pulser placed
outside the magnet and attached to the upper or lower left side of the engine block wall.
Get to Know The Meaning and Function of The Power
Cord on A Motorcycle

In the care of our favorite motorcycle, sometimes we have to understand the meaning /
function of the electrical cable on a motorcycle. The function of the cable itself is to connect
electricity from one component to another.

The meaning of the color of the motorcycle cable in each brand is sometimes different.
Basically the color of the electrical wires represents the positive (+) and negative (-) charges on
the motorcycle. If we connect the cables incorrectly, it can be fatal and even fire in the
motorcycle electrical system.

The following is an explanation of the meaning of the color of the electrical wires on
Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki motorcycles

1. HONDA Power Cord

Red : (+) battery
Black: (+) ignition key
White : (+) charging alternator
(+) close light
Yellow: (+) load current to the light switch
Blue: (+) high light
Gray : (+) flasher
Navy Blue: (+) turn signal / right reting
Orange: (+) turn signal/reting left
Brown : (+) city lights
Black-Red : (+) spool CDI
Black-White : (+) key kontsk
