SUMMARY

Executive summary: This document provides a list of provisions that could be considered
for amending the 2023 Non-exhaustive List of Obligations under
Instruments relevant to the IMO Instruments Implementation Code
(III Code) (resolution A.1187(33)).

General

1 The Sub-Committee on Flag State Implementation (FSI), at its fifteenth session,

requested the Secretariat (FSI 15/18, paragraph 3.10) to make all the relevant amendments
that had not been taken into account in the Code for the implementation of mandatory IMO
instruments available as an information document.

2 The annex to resolution A.1187(33) on 2023 Non-exhaustive List of Obligations under

Instruments relevant to the IMO Instruments Implementation Code (III Code) solely contains
the updated version of the annexes to the revoked Code for the implementation of mandatory
IMO instruments, 2011 (resolution A.1054(27)), while the main body of the Code was replaced
by the IMO Instruments Implementation Code (III Code) (resolution A.1070(28)).

List of provisions prepared for amending the Non-exhaustive list of obligations under
instruments relevant to the III Code

3 In pursuance of the above, the Secretariat prepared a list of provisions that could be
considered for amending the 2023 Non-exhaustive list of obligations under instruments relevant
to the IMO Instruments Implementation Code (III Code) (resolution A.1187(33)), which is set

out in the annex to document III 10/INF.3. The list of provisions is derived from relevant
amendments to mandatory instruments which were adopted by MSC 107 and MEPC 80,
respectively.

Action requested of the Sub-Committee

4 The Sub-Committee is invited to consider the information provided and to take action,
as appropriate.
