1. Why should we love the Virgin Mary?

Loving the Virgin Mary is significant for several reasons. Firstly, she is the mother of Jesus
Christ, and honoring her is a way to show reverence for Him. Her unwavering faith and
obedience to God’s will serve as a powerful example of devotion and humility. Mary’s role in
the Incarnation, agreeing to bear the Son of God, is central to the Christian faith. She is seen as
a compassionate intercessor, always willing to pray on behalf of humanity. Mary’s numerous
apparitions and miracles reported over the centuries have strengthened the faith of many
believers. Her life reflects immense purity, grace, and virtue, making her a model for living a
holy life. Mary’s sorrows, especially witnessing the crucifixion of her son, show her deep love
and empathy, resonating with those who suffer. The early Church Fathers and centuries of
tradition emphasize her importance and veneration. Loving Mary also means recognizing her
unique role in salvation history. Lastly, honoring her can deepen one’s relationship with Jesus,
as she always directs attention toward her Son.

2. Mary has been faithful to God in her entire life. Concretely, how would you express your faith
in God as a member of the Church?

Expressing faith in God as a member of the Church can take many forms. This can
include regular participation in the sacraments, especially attending Mass and
receiving the Eucharist; engaging in personal and communal prayer; studying and
living out the teachings of the Bible and the Church; serving others through acts of
charity and justice; and fostering a community that reflects Christ’s love. Additionally,
following the example of Mary, one can practice humility, obedience to God’s will, and a
deep trust in God’s plan.
