AN ORDER REORGANIZING THE

AKSYON BARANGAY KONTRA DENGUE (ABKD)
OF BARANGAY MAULAWIN

WHEREAS, Memorandum Circular No. 2012 – 16, from the Department of Interior
and Local Government (DILG) cited Aksyon Barangay Kontra Dengue (ABKD), an inter-
agency cooperation strategy, as the government’s response to intensify the fight against
dengue outbreak in order to reduce dengue cases and control dengue transmission;

WHEREAS, a total of 3 dengue cases in the barangay has been reported last year
(2022), which resulted to the death of 0 patients where most of the victims were children
ages 1 to 15 years old;

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Barangay of Maulawin is vigorously intensifying the

conduct of Clean – up Drive in the barangay through mobilization of its officials, employees,
peace and order members, BHW, BNS, BHERTs, FHW, volunteers and residents;

WHEREAS, in order to effectively detect the Aedes Mosquito, information campaigns

are being conducted.

WHEREAS, the Barangay Health Center of Maulawin will be the prime distribution
center for information campaigns.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Hon. Jonathan P. Almontero, Punong Barangay of Barangay

Barangay Maulawin, Pagsanjan, Laguna do hereby order that:

Section 1. COMPOSITION. The Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) of

Barangay Maulawin, Pagsanjan, Laguna is hereby reorganized and shall be composed of the
following:

Section 2. DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS. The Aksyon Barangay Kontra Dengue (ABKD) shall
have the following functions:

1. Conduct information campaign relative to the OL – Trap System as a strategy to

control and detect impending dengue outbreaks.

2. Assist in the identification of distribution centers or stores for OL – Trap Kits and
in the installation in identified areas.

3. Prime movers in the mobilization of their members.

4. Undertake periodic assessment and appropriate recommendations to the higher

level Municipal Health Officer.

Section 3. EFFECTIVITY. This Order shall take effect immediately.
