Madam Rahimah is a housewife. Every week she goes to the market near
her house to buy her groceries for the week. Puan Rahimah usually buys her things
from the same people. She feels that by doing so, she will be able to get better
discounts.
One day, Puan Rahimah went to the market. It was not her usual marketing
day but her family likes to eat fruits and she had run out of them. So, she went
looking for her usual fruit seller, Mr. Muthu. Unfortunately, he was not there. She
had no choice but to go to someone else. She looked around and saw a stall with a
young man selling fruits. He looked honest.
After checking out the fruits, she bought some oranges and bananas from
the young man. Later, she went to a quiet place to check the items. She was shocked
to find that she only got one of the two bananas she bought. Puan Rahimah was
upset because she thought that the man had lied to her.
She went back to the fruit seller and talked to him. She demanded an
explanation from the man. The man looked confused. He told Madam Rahimah that
he did give her both the bananas and asked if she had lost it. Madam Rahimah was
angry now. She started to point her finger at him and said that the he was not an
honest seller.
Just about the same time, ten metres away a young woman came running
with a plastic bag. Inside the bag were the two bananas that Madam Rahimah had
bought. The woman apologised to both the seller and Madam Rahimah, saying that
she had accidentally taken the wrong plastic bag as she had only bought one
banana.
