Duties and Responsibilities of: Ma. Cristina A.

Mercado, VP Sales & Marketing

1. Overall in-charge of Sales Operations of Provident Plans which include

Manila Office and Branches (through the Provincial Operation Head, Mr. Lito Suarez)

At present since the company was ordered to stop selling:

a. Supervision of all Sales Counselors, Unit Managers and Agency Managers of
Provident who are currently collecting all accounts for Provident Plans since the
company was ordered to stop selling. Provident has no collection department so the
Salespeople also handle the collection of their accounts. Provident still has around
200 active Sales Counselors.
b. Management of Sales Counselors, Unit Managers and Agency Managers who are
constantly rendering service to planholders and their requirements.
c. Keeping in constant touch with the Salespeople regarding developments within the
company and its dealings with the Investor and the Insurance Commission.

2. As the person who is responsible in sourcing the Investor, it is my duty to act as the
negotiator between the Investor, the Board Members of Provident and the Insurance
Commission. We constantly meet with the contact persons so we can work together to
finalize our dealings with the Investor. We also arrange for the meetings with the
Insurance Commission, most especially at this time since Provident Plans is under
Receivership.

3. It is also my responsibility to act on behalf of the Board for meetings with our Legal
Team regarding the cases and complaints we have filed against UCPB (the Trustee Bank
responsible for the loss of our Export Bank Investment) through our Legal Counsel (the
Siguion Reyna Law Firm) and PDIC for the liquidation of the Lost ExportBank
Investment (through Atty. Reyno for the coalition of all ExportBank claimants). We are
assured by PDIC that Provident Plans will be able to receive their lost investment by
2022 (as per my projection since they said that by 2018, 58% of the funds is
recoverable.

4. Provide managerial assistance to department heads or supervisors so we can operate

smoothly. To assist CRL, I make the Monthly Accomplishment Reports with the
assistance of our Department Heads. Daily, the officers of Provident Plans update IC
and cooperate with CRL regarding any matter that is important or is required from the
company.

5. Deal with real estate brokers regarding the sale of Provident’s properties since I am a
Licensed Broker (License Reg. 0011684 until Aug. 11, 2019). At present, designate the
right people to represent Provident to sell these properties which also includes properties
at Manila Memorial Park. I am a Member of LPCREB, a credited association of Real
Estate Brokers.
