- — Methodology Capstone Research Discussion of Chapter 3 — ICT & Engineering 01 Overview of the Project Brief introduction 02 System Design Specification Specifications of the hardware, software SS » and firmware used in the project . oo? + eee ste rit “The ball collector robot is a mobile robot that ea detect and collect balls around the court It is designed to help tennis players and staffs from manually collecting tive tennis balls after every practice session. The project consists of different modules working together to fimetion. faceoidingly; the control module, counting module, collecting modhile, and the power stipply module. The first modute is the control module using Raspberry Pi 3 that served as the brain of the robot that receives the inpuits from the extemal devices. The second module is the couning module using a microswitch. When the retrieved bali passed lever of the microswitch the count Will increment, The third module is the collecting module that enables the robot to collect stray balls in the court usitig a pickiip roller, The forth mode is the power supply that supplies the power needed by the robot since it has its own charging station. The rabot has its own cherging station and it has a homing capability that allows it to return t the charging station when the itser presses the home button on the Android application. The robot has an Android application that allows the user to control the movement of the robot. Through the Android application the user can see the number of bills retrieved and there is alsoan on/6ff button for the pi ip roll System Design Specification ‘This project is composed of several modules working together to achieve the Hesired output; the hardware, software, and firmware. Hardware * Raspberry Pi 3-Model B The Raspberry Pi 3 is the third generation Raspberry Pi. It replaced the Raspberry Pi 2 Model B in February 2016. Compared to Raspberry Pi 2 it has a ]. 2GHz 64-bit quad-core ARMv8 CPU 802.11n, Wireless LAN, Bluetooth 4.1 and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) The Raspberry Pi 3 has an identical form factor to the Software © Arduino Software (IDE) ‘The Arduino Integrated Development Environment - or Arduino Software (IDE) - contains a text editor for writing code, a message area, a text console, a toolbar with buttons for common functions and a series of menus. It connects to the Arduino and Genuino hardware to upload programs and communicate with them. [ARDU2017] (See Appendiv 4, Figure 8 Arduino IDE) © Raspbian It is a free operating system based on Debian optimized for the Raspberry Pi hardware. An operating system is the set of basic programs and utilities that make Raspberry Pi run. [RASP2016]_ {See Appendix 4, Figure 14 Respbian) Firmware * Nanpy Firmware Nanpy is a library that uses Arduino as a slave, controlled by a master device where one run scripts, such as a PC, Raspberry Pi etc The main purpose of Nanpy is making programmers’ life easier, providing them a powerful library to create prototypes faster. © Python Programming Language It is an interpreted, object-oriented, high-level programming language with dynamic semantics, Its high-level built-in data structures, combined with dynamic typing and dynamic binding Discussion of Chapter 3 - General - Brief discussion of what Community where the PedBle Part in research design was research was conducted and —_the study used in the study where the research +e OS Tools/Materials used in How the research was the study carried out Evaluation Tool . a Methodology This chapter describes and discusses the materials needed and the process of producing the product. In addition, it also explains how the researchers gathered the necessary data and information used in the analysis of the result. It includes the respondents for the product testing. This also shows the procedure of data collection and instruments used. In addition, this chapter discusses the type of research, the research method used, and the locale where the study was conducted. Research Design The purpose of this experimental study was to test the efficiency of natural dye extracts from Curcuma longa, Cassia alata, and Origanum vulgare in producing voltage of electricity for dye-sensitized solar cells Research design refers to an entire plan on how the study conducted (Rwegoshora, 2012). It constitutes the blueprint for collection, measurement and analysis of data (Kothari, 2012). This study employed experimental design analyzing the voltages of electricity to examine and quantify the efficiency of natural dye extracts from Curcuma longa, Cassia alata, and Origanum vulgare for dye-sensitized solar cells, Locale and Participants of the Study The respondents of the study were the junior high school students from Special Science Class of Prenza National High School as this specific Classes have dealt to learn the electrophoresis technique yet did not experience using the suitable equipment intended for its usage, The researchers used the systematic sampling technique which only selects 30% of the total population (Jackson, 2012), where N= 137, n= 41. Since it consists of four (4) classes, to determine the even distribution of needed respondents per class, random selection was done using fishbowl technique wherein it obtained 11 students from Grade 7, 10 for Grade 8, 9 for Grade 9 and 11 students from Grade 10. Instruments of the Stu This study used survey questionnaire that are coherent to the topic and clearly emphasized the objective of this research. According to Palladian Career Resources (2018), this tool explains that there will be a more compact and reliable data making it more credible, making the study stronger. By means of survey, the researchers determined the effectiveness of activated jackfruit seeds with tamarind pebbles as altemative organic materials for water filtration. This study also used Pre-testing and Post-testing for water samples to determine the quality of water and to analyze if the Manganese (Mn) content of water decreased by using the organic filtration device. Research Procedure j The researchers first met the advisers of the Special Science Classes (SSC) in Junior High School and asked for their permission to conduct @ survey to the randomly selected SSC students about their prior knowledge about molecular biology especially in electrophoresis and genetics and assessing their thoughts about lack of labaraiory equipment in the schoot's laboratory. Moreover; it served as a data gathering tool on the improvised electrophoresis systems with Al feature performance and its effectivity as an altemative molecular biology tool based on students’ rating. “The following step was the formulation of questions relative to the purpose of the study and was submitted for approval and validation. Dissemination of questionnaires to the participants with the researchers’ discretion is followed prior to the approval of the research adviser. with Al feature reat things come from hard work and perseverance.
