Introduction
WGSN’s A/W 24/25 forecasts explore how the macro themes covered in our
STEPIC reports (examining Society, Technology, the Environment, Politics,
Industry and Creativity) will filter down to seasonal product development. This
report is derived from the directions set in the three seasonal forecast trends
and applies them to bathroom categories to inspire interior design and
commercial product ranges.

Expanded Imagination: technology and AI inspire new forms of creativity, with

materials and surfaces that create an immersive atmosphere. This will result in unique
bathroom products and aesthetics. Expect to see more futuristic and fluid forms, as well
as changeable finishes with ombré and sprayed effects. Surreal transparencies and cool
metallic shine will inspire designs that blur the line between the real and digital worlds.
Future Terrains: as designers and consumers speculate about what our future will look
like, we will see bathroom products and aesthetics that appear to have been excavated
from the ground or plucked from the cosmos. Biophilic design will have a bigger
presence, with natural materials and organic textures that enrich bathroom settings. As
consumers and businesses explore the self-care benefits of powering down, spaces that
showcase the beauty of simplicity and support a sense of wellbeing will be paramount.
Inter-Actions: there will be a yearning for flexible and problem-solving products that
make life simpler or have a range of uses in an unpredictable world. This inspires
bathrooms with upgraded details that bring joy to consumers while supporting their
daily routines. Designs will also reappraise the past for a new era. Vintage and antique
themes will be remixed, and craft will appear in elevated contexts or as unusual details.

Dynamic living
The concept: homes of the future will need to
become more flexible and bathrooms have
become a key area of investment for
consumers who are looking to get the most out
of their living environments. The A/W 24/25
forecast Inter-Actions inspires designs that
make bathroom spaces more accommodating
and adaptable, which will be paramount as
consumers demand more functionality from
their living spaces.

Surprising colour
The concept: bold, high-octane colour amps
up bathroom spaces with unexpected
placements and atypical palette combinations
that animate functional designs, as championed
in the A/W 24/25 forecasts Inter-Actions and
Expanded Imagination.

overwhelm a space. Australia's Købn creates
premium terrycloth towels animated with a mix
of bright high-contrast hues. The incorporation
købn of a bright plain weave stripe brings in an extra
element of dimension and surface interest.
How you can action this:
Give new life to perennial fixtures by
infusing them with bold colour. Faucets,
mirror frames, towel warmers and shelving
all look refreshed when washed in confident
colour
Present atypical colour combinations for
HAY Casa & Jardim Azzurra Ceramica tiled areas and present variations to
consumers who are looking to energise

Soft presence
The concept: as called out in the A/W 24/25

comfort means that hard bathroom fixtures
are becoming increasingly soft, with rounded
contours and gently sculpted shapes creating a
reassuring sense of cosiness and privacy, with a

bathtub by Germany's Bette showcases a gently
sloped silhouette that is roomy enough for two.

Muted rhythms
The concept: linear surface dimension is
essential for creating a soothing minimalist
aesthetic in bathroom spaces, as demonstrated
in the A/W 24/25 forecast Expanded
Imagination. Textural grids and embossed
lines lend intriguing tactility to both hard and
soft bathroom furnishings.

orientation of the woven lines a grid pattern
emerges to elevate towels with a soft graphic
look.

Restorative focus

prioritise wellbeing, and this will inform the
design of the bathroom as the ultimate space
dedicated to it. Restorative qualities will be
paramount, and need to engage all the senses.

Biophilia-connected

alter our planet and inform consumers'
spending decisions, nature will remain a key
driver for both bathroom interiors and
furnishings. The A/W 24/25 forecast Future
Terrain highlights how natural materials and
organic textures are essential considerations
that bring an element of the outdoors inside.
Ones to watch: Wood is a fundamental
material for this direction as it lends a rich and

surfaces. Paris-based interior design and
architecture firm Liaigre showcases a wooden
bathtub design in its Kanagawa project, located
in Japan. The contrast between the wood and
the surrounding stone walls and flooring
creates an alluring mix that is suitable for
residential and hospitality spaces. Guatemalan
architecture firm Iconico4 Arquitectura echoes
this contemporary use of wood with a slatted
outdoor shower design, perfect for
contemporary settings.

appearance.

By keeping the other details to a minimum, the
marbled sink becomes the focal point of the
room, lending dynamic dimension to a modern
minimalist space. This approach is key for both
residential and hospitality environments.
Portuguese bathroom brand Sorema uses a
marbled motif to elevate its line of shower
curtains. This use of swirled patterns can
easily be adapted for printed perennial linen
ranges as well as bath mats and accessories.
