Introduction:

Good morning Everyone

Today, I would like to discuss whether the death penalty works as
a preventative to crime or not. So for the following reasons here, my
opinion is not.

Body:

First of all, for me there is not enough proof to support the idea that death
penalty prevents crime. And some studies show that places without the
death penalty don’t have higher crime rates than those with it. Some crimes
are done by people who are not thinking properly or accidental, so death
penalty is not even on their minds.

Secondly, the possibility of errors is very high. Imagine yourself being

wrongfully punished to death on false charges. When someone is
executed, there is no way to fix the situation once there is an error about
finding someone is wrongfully accused and later found innocent.

And lastly, the death penalty is unfair, why?? the justice system is already
biased against the poor and minority groups. If death penalty is legal, it is
more likely given to those who can’t afford to hire a lawyer to defend them
than those who are use money to prevent in jail or their crimes.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the death penalty cannot effectively stop crime, risks killing
some innocent people is unfairly, and is seriously difficult. Instead of forcing
the death penalty, we should focused on how to reduce crime, do jobs
right, and help people live better lives.
