I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, learners are expected to perform the following:
1. Describe musical elements of given Romantic Period artists.
2. Improvise appropriate instrumental accompaniment to given short and simple
Romantic Period pieces.
3. Show appreciation to the Romantic Period musical pieces and their respective artists.

B. Review
Before starting the discussion, the teacher allows the students to recall their knowledge on
the Classical music artists and musical pieces.

C. Motivation

The teacher shows pictures related to the topic and allow the students to identify who is

- Introduce the different artists of the Romantic Period and their background.
- Present examples of the different musical compositions:
Niccolo Paganini’s “La Campanella”
Frederic Chopin’s Polonaise and Fantasie in F minor.
Franz Liszt’s Sonata in B minor
Robert Schumann’s “Abegg Variations” Opus 1(1830).
- Discussing and analyzing the characteristic of the musical compositions of the
different artists and composers of the Romantic Period.

5. Perform the accompaniment with the music in the class.
