WORK PROGRAM

I. TITLE DISTRICT REORIENTATION on GENDER and DEVELOPMENT

PROGRAMS and POLICIES

II. RATIONALE Gender and Development aims to correct the systems and
(includes background and mechanisms that produce gender inequality by focusing not only
legal basis) on women, but also by evaluating the social status of both women
and men. Every member of the community wished to experience
contentment and happiness, wherein the women live equally with
men or vice- versa. It gives equal access to education, financial
independence, shared family responsibilities, and freedom from
all forms of coercion, intimidation, and violence. It also puts
equality to making decisions that will have a positive impact on
their own and their family’s health and safety.

One way to fulfill this goal is through capability building,

seminars, and training of every personnel whatever their position
is. The Department of Education believed and supports this,
either teaching or non-teaching personnel must fully understand
the GAD-related laws, issuances, and policies related to of both
men and women.

Legal Basis:

 Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment

 Republic Act 7877-Anti- Sexual Harassment Act of 1995
 Men’s Responsibility on Gender Sensitivity
 DepEd Order No. 32, s. 2017 – Gender-Responsive Basic
Education Policy
 Republic Act No. 11313: Safe Spaces Act (Bawal Bastos
Law)
