1 PROJECT DESCRIPTION
1.1 Introduction
The Habshan & Bab Gas Complex is a set of gas processing facilities operated by ADNOC
Gas Processing (AGP) and located approximately 140km southwest of the city of Abu Dhabi.
The first plant in the complex was commissioned almost four decades ago. Since then, several
other plants were added to the complex making it one of the largest gas processing facilities in
the world.
In order to ensure the continued viability of Habshan and Bab Gas Complex, ADNOC Gas
Processing regularly reviews the installed equipment and systems, and carries out necessary
refurbishments, upgrades, replacements and additions to ensure that the facilities can be
operated in a safe, sustainable and efficient manner. This project is a continuation of these
efforts.
ADNOC Gas Processing (hereinafter referred to as COMPANY) has assigned M/s Bilfinger
Tebodin Middle East Ltd. (hereafter referred to as CONSULTANT) to carry out Front End
Engineering & Design (FEED) and Detail Engineering for the Project to enable COMPANY to
engage a Procurement & Construction (PC) Contractor to execute the Project.
CONSULTANT shall perform Engineering for the PROJECT as per Scope of Services under
the framework Agreement No. TE.18.048 (J) / 2018-21 /SRC/021. CONSULTANT shall carry
out Engineering for the project to enable COMPANY to engage a Procurement & Construction
(PC) Contractor to execute the PROJECT without further detailed engineering.
The objective of the project is to ensure safety and security of personnel and buildings by
providing adequate public address system annunciation, safety monitoring and incident review
capability, and controlled access to critical buildings by implementing/enhancing the Public
Address, CCTV and Access Control Systems in accordance with international codes,
standards, HSE and Electronic Security requirements.
The scope includes the following main items, in addition to all associated multi-disciplinary
works:
New CCTV and Access Control Systems in Habshan & Bab Process Buildings
New Public Address System in Bab Plant Area & Residential Complex
Integration of the above system including Security LAN and Video Analytics
The purpose of this document is to outline the observations, findings and conclusions as an
outcome of the site visit jointly conducted by COMPANY and CONSULTANT representatives to
Substation No.5 of Habshan plant.

devices & Fibre Optic Cabinets) related to the PROJECT scope.

4.1[5.1] Telecom
It was observed that in order to ensure that front and rear side of each cabinet /panel in
SS-5 is within camera viewing angle, the total quantity of cameras required to meet the
required coverage is as detailed below.
In addition, in order to ensure that each critical building entry/exit is monitored, the total
quantity of outdoor cameras required to meet the required coverage is as detailed below.
It was noted that personnel entry doors (1 no of air lock room) are unmanaged (i.e. no
access control available) and there is enough space available for installation of controlled
door assembly (including indoor card reader, exit push button, emergency break glass
unit, door contacts, electromagnetic locks).
It was observed that as other equipment doors-double leaf (1 No.) are unmanaged (i.e. no
access control available), uncontrolled door assembly (i.e. door contact) shall be provided
as per project scope.
It was observed that there is enough space for installation of new wall mounted junction
box of size 500 x 500 x 250mm (W x H x D) for new ACS controller required at SS-5.
Existing Fire & Safety panel is available at SS-5. Required ACS interface with Fire Alarm
system shall be considered as part of project scope.
It was observed that there is an existing Fibre Optic Cabinet in SS-5 and the site informed
that panel details can be shared with the Consultant.
It was noted that there is enough space for installation of new wall mounted network
cabinet of size 700 x 600 x 600mm (W x H x D) which shall house the new patch panels
and access switch required as part of this project.
New GI conduits and existing trays where available, shall be used to route the ACS &
CCTV system cables inside SS-5.
4.1.5 Site Visit finding dated 11th to 16th January, 1st to 7th February 2021

The location of the cameras as per the CCTV Coverage study and location of Access
Control devices was verified at site and updated in Attachment -1.
Existing Consilium Panel which was identified for Access Control System and F&G
interface as hardwired.
Spare space for installation of new FOPP cabinet for installation of Access switches, patch
panels is verified.
New Single Mode FOC cable to SS-6 (19-24) cores shall be reserved; COMPANY shall
lay this cable.
[5.2] Electrical
4.1.6 Site Visit Finding dated 11th March to 31st March 2021.
The site visit was conducted in order to get familiarized with the existing electrical facilities and
to verify the required spare / space feeder availability for the new equipment/systems to be
installed for the PROJECT. Refer Attachment-2 for further details and site visit findings.
There is no availability of 415V LV switchgear in SS-5, hence as suggested by site team power
supply to new UPS shall be considered from SS-14.

5.2 Electrical
Spare/Space feeders and equipment space identified in section 5.2 can be utilized to feed the
new power requirement for the project.Possibility of Rack mounted, standalone UPS system
shall be explored during Engineering to cater the power supply requirement of the Project.
