PURPOSE

The purpose of this Work Procedure is to provide a controlled system of operation within project
specifications and applicable codes/standards.

SCOPE

This Work Procedure shall cover the Execution of Shuttering works and identify the sequence of
operations and HSE Guidelines.

METHODOLOGY FOR EXECUTING SHUTTERING WORKS:

 The form work scheme shall be got approved by site Engineer.

 The required size and quantity of ply woods, boards, props, and necessary components shall be
grouped and shifted to the required place of positioning.
 Shuttering to start only after reinforcement check sign off in case of columns.
 In case of beams, bottom shuttering shall be provided first, checked for line and level and then
reinforcement placement shall start.
 For slabs, all the supports shall be checked for the stability after shutter alignment and slab
reinforcement shall start after the shuttering is checked and signed off.
 Prior to steel tying, cleaning of shuttering shall be ensured & Formwork
releasing agent applied moderately for proper form removal.
 For columns and walls, reinforcement above the form work to be tied to prevent leaning of
reinforcement while vibration.
 Foam to be provided at bottom of shutter in vertical forms and all joints properly sealed with masking
tape in slab shutters to avoid any slurry leakage while pouring.
 Ensure proper cover as specified by using standard spacers to ensure right dimensions and provide
wooden battens at top to maintain the reinforcement cover in vertical forms.
 Line and level for shuttering shall be checked before commencing pour and recorded in checklist.
 Distance from reference / adjacent structure to be checked and recorded in checklist.

SAFETY ASPECTS:

 All the labor involved in the work will have all PPE (Personal protective equipment).
 Safety Supervisors will supervise during the execution of work.
 In case of night work proper lighting shall be provided.
 Walk-way, working platform with handrails, staging towers / Ladders shall be provided as required.
