i) PREPARATORY SMS Shift in-


JOB - Get the Work Duly signed by shift in charges. charge
permit. MM/ELE
1. Cleaning of Equipment & its Surrounding.
2. Move at height with safety belt.
3. Make proper scaffolding.
4. Shift the heavy material by the help of chain
block, EOT Crane, Hydra, Mobile Crane as per
suitability & if light use nylon rope.
5. Positioning with alignment of Heavy
material with the help of chain block, EOT
Crane, Hydra, Mobile Crane as per suitability
& for light Material use nylon rope. And fixing
of same by Welding.
For Welding -
1. Use proper welding cable (600 A) with
proper insulation (avoid open cable), use
welding cable with proper lugs prior to start
of work.
2. Use leather / canvas 14” welder hand
gloves.
3. Use welder helmet with black & 02 nos.

ii)JOB EXECUTION - 4. Use proper Welding Rods for MS use technician/
E7018/6013, for SS Use E308 & for MS to SS Shift in-charge
use E309. Mech.
For Cutting Use –
1. Use hand gloves, safety goggle, face shield &
Leg Guard.
2. Connect the O2 & LPG hose in cylinder by
using jubilee clamps.
3. Use Flash back arrestor with cutting torch.
Ignite the cutting torch by using lighter.
4. Use industrial regulator for O2 & LPG.
5. Keep hose away from cutting area prior to
cutting.
6. Shifting/carrying the LPG cylinder with
trolley.
7. Don’t keep LPG cylinder in direct sunlight &
heat.
8. After completion of welding. Put off the
welding machine.
9. Remove the Cutting Set and Welding Cables
and Clean the area.
10. Works permit Surrender.
1. Before starting the job get the work permit
from operation and clearances from electrical SMS Shift

5. Environment, Health & Safety Considerations:-


a. Do not allow smoking near the equipment.
b. Wear dust mask while working for prevention from dust & fumes.
c. Keep unauthorized personnel away from the work.
d. No electrical work will be executed without electrical specialists.
e. Collect the solid waste generated at the end of maintenance job to be disposed at designated
location, which further is handed by respective department.
