NUTRITIONAL THERAPY

ABSTRACT

Nutrition Awareness Program aims to improve attitudes and practices known to improve
nutritional outcomes of household members focusing more on women of reproductive age,
pregnant women and lactating mother and children. Through this awareness program, the
mothers are known about the nutritious food and its advantages and motivated to prepare and
serve homemade nutritious food to children and family members that results household food and
nutrition security. Therefore, sustainable production of food is the first pillar of food security.
Worldwide around 795 million people are undernourished globally including 780 million in the
developing regions due to extreme poverty, while up to 2 billion people lack food security
intermittently due to varying degrees of poverty. And the most horrible thing, six million
children die of hunger every year – 17,000 every day. Similarly, thirty eight percent of the
population is not meeting their daily food energy requirements. Such realities are an impediment
to our social-economic development which needs to be urgently overcome. There has been a
slow but steady progress in improving the nutrition and food security status of the population,
but there is still a lot to be achieved. For the implantation of nutritional therapy we choosed
PODALAKUR village, Nellore.
PROBLEM: Major nutritional problems include: 1) Maternal nutritional anemia; 2) Protein
energy malnutrition; 3) Vitamin A deficiency; 4) Lactation failure; 5) Addiction to milk
feeding; and 6) Inadequate preparation and use of artificial milk products.

SOLUTION:
* Conducting survey on people who are suffered from health issues

* Finding factors of causes of diseases

* To making them take care of their health
