Sheet 6 Answer
Question: 1
CMRR =Av(d )/Acm, Therefore,
a) CMRR=2000/0.2= 10,000
Expressed in decibels,
CMRR = 20 log (10,000) = 80 dB

b)
CMRR=8500/0.25= 34,000
Expressed in decibels,
CMRR = 20 log (34,000) = 90.63 dB

Question: 6
This is inverting amplifier

Question: 7
Q2 operates as a common-emitter amplifier, while Q1 does not really act as an amplifier at all
(giventhat no input or output connects to it). The gain equation is as such:

AV =-RC/(re+re//RE)=-Rc/2re

Question: 8

Q1 operates as a common-collector amplifier, while Q2 acts as a common-base amplifier.

The gain equation is as such:

AV (noninvert) =[RC/(re + re||RE)][re||RE/re]

Question: 9 Identify each of the op-amp configurations

(a) voltage follower, (b) Noninverting amplifier, (c) Inverting amplifier

Question: 10 A noninverting amplifier has an Ri =1k ohm and

an Rf of 100 k ohm Determine Vf and B if Vout = 5 V.
B=Ri/Ri+Rf= 1/1+101=1/101
Vf = vout B= 5/101V

Question: 11 for the amplifier in the figure , determine the

following: (a) Acl(NI) (b) Vout (c) Vf
B=Ri/Ri+Rf=1.5/1.5+560=1.5/561.5=2.67×10^-3
(a) Acl= 1/B= 374.33, = 1+ Rf/Ri= 1+560/1.5=374.33
(b) Vout= Vin×Acl= 10×374.33= 3.743V rms
(c) Vf= Vin=10mV rms, Vf=Vout B= 3.743×2.67= 10mV rms

B= Ri/(Ri+Rf)
Acl = Aol/(AolB+1)
(a)B= 4.7/(4.7+47)=1/11, Acl= 150000/(150000/11 +1)=1.1,
(b) B=10/(10+1000)=0.01 , Acl= 100000/(100000×0.01+1)=
99.9001,
(c) B= 4.7/(4.7+220)=0.0209, Acl= 200000/(200000×0.0209+1)=
47.8354,
(d) B=1/(1+22)= 0.0435, Acl= 150000/(150000×0.0435+1)=
22.9850,
