VISUAL TEST PROCEDURE

1. General

1.1 SCOPE & PURPOSE

1.1.1 The scope shall cover the visual examination of the element to detect the
discontinuities which are open to the surface.
1.1.2 This procedure defines the visual inspection criteria to which all welds in carbon
steel materials, low carbon steel materials, stainless steel materials and alloy steel
materials piping materials will be assessed during the procedure qualification &
construction
1.1.3 Visual examination shall be used to determine the surface, shape, or evidence of
leaking in addition, visual examination shall be used to determine a composite
materials subsurface conditions.
1.1.4 The purpose of this procedure is to ensure correct methodology to carry out
visual examination on the weldments before subjection it to destructive / non-
destructive testing or subjection the weldments to service conditions

1.2 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definition are used in the preparation of any quality related
document

VOLTEC : Organization appoints by company to perform the works

AGGRECO : Origination that receives the services related to the works provided by Albilal
and its construction organization (s)

2.0 Responsibilities

For The Weld Visual examination by the Quality Control welding inspector, shall ensure
the implementation of the presents work instruction, using the necessary resources and
tools he shall determine whether the welding is acceptable prior to NDT Examination.

3.0 Activities Description

3.1 General Requirements

3.1.1 Visual Examination shall be made when access is sufficient to place the eye
within 24 inch of the surface to be examined and at the angle not less than 30 deg. To
the surface to be examined Mirror shall be used to improve the angle of vision, and
aids such as magnifying lens shall be used to assist examination the minimum
illumination level of the light intensity at the examination surface shall be approx.
1000 lux.

3.1.2 Appropriate Calibrated gauges and equipment's shall be used for dimensional
verification of the joints.
