I. RATIONALE

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 9710, Section 36 of Chapter VI provides all


departments including different agencies, offices and other instrumentalities shall
adopt gender mainstreaming as a strategy to promote women’s human rights and
eliminate gender discrimination in the system, policies, thrusts, and programs.

In line with the mandate, the General Appropriations Act of 2013, Republic
Act No. 10352 requires all agencies including the Department of Education to
formulate a Gender and Development (GAD) Plan and Budget designed to address
gender issues and implement applicable provisions under Republic Act No. 9701
that GAD Plan and Budget shall be integrated in the regular activities utilizing the
five percent (5 %) budget of the agency.

As the prime mover in the field of education, Adalla Elementary School must
possess the knowledge, skills, and attitudes in structures, programs, policies, and
implementing guidelines of this mandate. Therefore, it is necessary to provide
capability building for all teachers, staff, and school heads to implement the
programs properly.

At the end of this training, teachers and staff be able to apply their learnings
and knowledge to deal with different issues happening at school and in the
community. This training will be the instrument in promoting Gender-and
Development missions and raised awareness through application.

This training is design to benefits the Students, Teacher, Staff, Stakeholders


and other member of the community. Thus, it will become the key to promote GAD
Advocacy campaign.

II. ACTIVITY OBJECTIVES:

At the end of this training, the participants will be able to:

1. Promote awareness of the different forms of violence experience by women


and children.

2. Provide information on laws that protect women and children.

3. Increase teachers’ awareness of the Gender and Development (GAD)


mandates

4. Help disseminate information on GAD programs and project in the school.
