D. Value Global competence is a multifaceted concept that includes the abilities, attitudes, and
Focus knowledge required for individuals to successfully navigate and prosper in an
interconnected world. It can help students develop the skills and perspectives required
for success in an interconnected world. The value of global competence is centered
on developing inclusive, courteous, and responsible global citizens capable of
engaging with and contributing to an increasingly interconnected and interdependent
world
II. Objectives At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
a. Demonstrate awareness of global concerns such as cultural diversity,
economic interdependence, and environmental sustainability.
b. Effectively communicate with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
c. Recognize and value cultural diversity, while avoiding stereotypes and
prejudices.
d. Reflect on the impact of being a globally competent student in the modern
world.
III. Procedure
A. Preparator Review
y Recall the previous lesson on Multicultural and Global Literacy
Activities ● What is Multicultural Literacy
● What is Global Literacy
● Its implications and effects

Motivation
With the use of the Powerpoint presentation, show to the students the various quotes.

Pick a quote based on the whim of what you think it means. The quotes are the
following:
“Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach the man how to fish, you feed him

“We cannot solve a problem with the same thinking we used when we created them.” -

“Change is inevitable. Growth is optional.” - John Maxwell
“Prejudice is a burden that confuses the past, threatens the future, and renders the
present inaccessible.” - Maya Angelou

B. Developme Title of the Activity: "Culture Clash: Unveiling Global Perspectives"

The class will be grouped into 5 groups and each group will consist of 5 members.
Each group will have a designated country and will explain their assigned country
what are their cultures and global issues in that country.

- America
- Italy
- Japan
- China
- Philippines

C. Analysis From the activity, each group will discuss the country that was assigned to them, and
its culture and global issues.
Also, explore various aspects such as traditions, customs, food, language, religion,
and societal norms. Additionally, they should investigate pressing global issues
affecting their assigned country.

After the group presentation, a video presentation on the global competence will be
viewed by the students with the teacher facilitating through elaborating the concepts
discussed in the video.

D. Applicatio After the discussion,


n - State the advantages and disadvantages of cultural traditions and global
issues in the assigned country in assessing global competence.

E. Abstractio Summarize the discussion on how important it is to have knowledge about being
n globally competent and how important to navigate diversity and understand the
complexity of each diverse culture and how to contribute positively to global
challenges.

5. Shouting at your team because you think they’re weighing you down.
6. Self-diagnosing that they are the problem and not you.
7. Reflecting on the way the culture that you belong to affects your habits.

V. Assignment
On a piece of yellow pad paper, make an 8-10 sentence reflective essay based on the
question below:
On a scale of 1-10, how globally competent do you consider yourself as in the 21st
century? State your reasons.
