I. LESSON OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students must be able to:
1. read sentences correctly and clearly with expressions through
activity;
2. classify sentences according to their uses and;
3. construct declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory
sentences through activity.

II. CONTENT
Subject Matter: Types Of Sentences
Reference: The 4 English Sentence Types by Josef Essberger
Instructional Material: Traditional Visual Aid (manila paper, Powerpoint
Presentation)

III. PROCEDURE
A. Classroom Routine
● Greetings

● Prayer

● Arranging of chairs

● Checking of attendance

● Setting of rules

B. Learning Stages
1. Activity

The teacher will let the students read an example about types of
sentences flashed in the tv.

2. Analysis

After the given activity, the teacher will ask the following questions:

a.) Did you have any ideas regarding what you've read?
b.) What is a sentence?

c.) What are their purposes and how is each formed?

3. Abstraction

- Sentence is a group of words that makes complete sentence on its own


and usually expresses a complete thought.

- A sentence has four types: declarative, interrogative, imperative and


exclamatory.
 Declarative- Makes a statement or expresses an opinion.
Ex. She is writing
 Interrogative- Asks questions.
Ex. Why did she shout?
 Imperative- Gives a command or makes a request.
Ex. Leave me alone.
 Exclamatory- Expresses strong emotion or excitement.
Ex What a liar he is!

4. Application

-The teacher will let the students classify the given sentences this
will be done through oral recitation.
- The teacher will instruct the students to get ½ crosswise for
constructing examples of each sentence for 4-5 minutes.

IV. ASSESSMENT

Directions: Identify each sentence below if it's Declarative, Interrogative,


Imperative, or Exclamatory. Write D if it's Declarative, IN for interrogative,
IM for Imperative and EX for Exclamative.
1. The cat slept peacefully on the windowsill.
2. Pass me the salt.
