Shallow Well Hand Pumps

Madzi Solutions from Kaiwe Investments

Water Challenges
Access to water remains a great challenge to most rural areas in Malawi.
WaterAid Malawi indicates that 1 in 3 people in Malawi don't have clean water
representing about 5.6 million people
Without access to wells or boreholes, most people resort to drinking water from the
nearest rivers which puts them at risk of waterborne diseases and at risk of being
attacked by crocodiles. https://orantcharitiesafrica.org/challenge-accessing-clean-

Water Challenge

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) seek to achieve universal

access to safely managed water, which requires that an improved
source be located on premises, available when needed, and free
from contamination.

However, this is not the case in rural areas where PEGO beneficiaries
(the elderly and children) are located
